A regular review of useful publications for parents and teachers of pupils with dyslexia and other additional needs. From Math Anxiety to Mastery in Six Stages: Stage 1 Encoding Mathematical Symbols (From Math Anxiety to Mastery in Six Stages - Stage 1 through Stage 6) by Shad Moarif.

We are delighted to endorse this new publication by Shad Moarif. He has given talks for us in the past and his approach to teaching maths to pupils with additional needs is fascinating and effective.

The Mathematics curriculum is universal. There is every reason to believe that Maths education, maths teachers and maths teacher-training can be made as universal as physical education. The Six Stages introduce an approach that transcends language and culture. They demonstrate the power of visualisation to communicate complex ideas. Around 60-70% % of the book is visual and in colour. The instructional design of the series is drawn from an understanding of UDL principles. Available on Amazon now.
